The Life of Plants
The life of a plant begins with a tiny seed. When the seed gets proper soil, water, air, and sunlight, it starts to germinate. A small root grows downward into the soil to absorb water and minerals, and a shoot grows upward towards the light. As the plant grows, it develops roots, a stem, and leaves. The roots anchor the plant in the soil and provide it with water and nutrients. The stem acts like a pipeline, carrying water, minerals, and food to different parts of the plant. The leaves are like small green kitchens where the plant makes its own food using sunlight, water, and air through the process called photosynthesis.
After some time, many plants produce flowers. Flowers are not only beautiful but also very important because they help in reproduction. With the help of bees, butterflies, wind, or other agents, pollination takes place, and flowers turn into fruits. These fruits contain seeds inside them. When the fruit falls or is eaten by animals, the seeds get scattered to new places, and when conditions are right, they grow into new plants. Thus, the life cycle of a plant continues.
Plants are very important for all living beings. They give us food, fruits, vegetables, medicines, wood, and most importantly, oxygen to breathe. They also keep our earth green and healthy. Without plants, life on Earth would not be possible.
